Deyr-e Gachin, known as mother of Iranian caravansaries, houses a bathroom, a cistern, a mosque, a backyard, an iwan and a place where the caravans conducted business.
Covering an area of 12,000sqm, the caravanserai has six barbicans of which four are on the four side of the caravanserai and two on both sides of the gate.

The caravanserai is due to be converted into a tourist resort within 5 years.
Deyr-e Gachin has been repeatedly renovated in different Islamic eras. It was basically renovated during the Safavid era, and what remains now shows the architecture of the era.
